Catigbian awes Catmon officials
Tagbilaran City (4 October 2008) -- Innovations Catigbian showed never fail to amaze development oriented local leaders who would get a second glance of the town, this time mightily sure the practice would be copied elsewhere.
The latest of the town's study group is a 15-man team from Catmon, Cebu, a town much like Catigbian in almost every sense, but still considerably behind compared to local government innovations.
Catmon legislative members and department heads conducted a whole day observation tour of the town, which brough the team to the modern auction center, the region's 3rd best public market, the municipal hall and the demonstration farm on September 29, 2008.
Catmon Councilor Beven Recamadas, who first saw the town during the recent PCL Regional Assembly as an officer of the league personally herded the Cebu delegation to this town.
"During the PCL Regional tree planting activity held here, I was really amazed how this 4th class municipality with similar class standing has introduced development beyond what we thought a 4th class town could do," he admitted before local officials here.
"That is precisely the reason why I was challenged to bring this team back to this place," he beamed with pride.
Local officials led by Mayor Roberto Salinas and Vice-Mayor Necie Digaum, laong with the full complement of the town's performance team warmly welcomed the delegation in the cold and cozy conference hall.
The Mayor took the questions from local officials and attempted to show the way Catigbian went to attain the developments despite the limited resources.
"Right from the start until our last stop, everything is very impressive!.. I am challenged to have these developments in our place," Catmon planning officer and information officer designate aired.
"We will be back for another venture, we want to see how your tourism industry during your local festival, he added. (PIA)
